Welcome to Lyndhurst Infant School

Headteacher

Welcome to our school website. We hope that you find the information useful. Please do contact the school office for more information or if you have any questions. We are very proud of our school and we welcome visitors. Our achievements have been celebrated by many National bodies.

We have the Basic Skills Award, ICT Mark, Sainsbury's School Games, The International Schools Award, the Active Mark, Autism Aware, Geography Quality Mark Gold (the only school in West Sussex) and the Healthy Schools award. We also value learning in the outdoor environment and are both a Beach School and Forest School.

At Lyndhurst we aspire to academic excellence (we are above National achievement in both the Foundation Stage GLD and at the end of KS1). We believe that all children have the right to be able to read and write and have good mathematical fluency and be able to use these skills in a practical way.

We support our learning by providing an enriched and exciting curriculum underpinned by our school values system. We believe that the mental well being and happiness of the children is equally important to academic success - this builds positive people who are confident to use their skills across a whole range of experiences - a skill for life!

We are an inclusive community where everyone is valued and each individual is celebrated. It is important to us to work in close partnership with our parents and carers. We recognise and celebrate the achievements of both you and our pre school providers, and we use these accomplishments as individual starting foundations to their school life at Lyndhurst. Please navigate this website for more information but if you have any further questions then please contact me through the school office.

Lyndhurst Infant School is fortunate to have a Special Support Centre (SSC) for nine children with ASD/complex communication disorders (Autistic Spectrum Disorder) The children are from a wide surrounding area and benefit from being in their special class with highly qualified staff. The children in the Unit participate fully in the life of the school and integrate into mainstream school as much as possible.
