Lyndhurst Infant School

Clerk to the Governors

An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to join our team at Lyndhurst Infant School, and play an important part in supporting the Governing Body with the vital work that they carry out for the staff and children.

We, therefore, require someone who is both efficient and well-organised; with good communication and administrative skills. He/she should also have strong ICT knowledge and be able to work under pressure. Previous experience of working in a school or with a Governing Body would be an advantage but not essential; as there will be a handover carried out by our current Clerk and support from the school. Access to your own personal PC would also be an advantage; as most of the work can be done from home. However, there is the possibility of working during the day in our school office should this be necessary.

Initially, the post holder will only be contracted to work 2 hours per week (term time only). However, this may increase further if necessary. The actual hours of work will be determined by the successful candidate, as they are flexible and will vary from week to week due to busier and quieter times throughout the year. However, applicants will need to be available to work on a Wednesday evening between 5.45pm - 8pm; as this is generally when Governor meetings are held. Please see attached schedule of upcoming meeting dates.

For further details regarding the role and responsibilities for this position, please refer to where you will find an Application Pack letter, Job Description and Person Specification.

Lyndhurst Infant School is committed to the safeguarding of all our children and staff so appointment will only be subject to receipt of satisfactory safer recruitment checks, eg. DBS, Medical & References.
