Lyndhurst Infant School

Clerk to Governors

We are looking to appoint a new Clerk to the Governors to commence as soon as possible in July 2019. The successful post holder will play an important and valuable part in assisting the whole of the Governing Body at Lyndhurst Infant School. Main duties will include minute taking, agenda setting and other general administrative duties. He/she should, therefore, have strong ICT knowledge, organisational skills and enjoy working under pressure.

Access to your own personal PC and email would be an advantage as most of the work can be done from home. However, there is the possibility of working in our school office if needed.

The hours of work vary from week; depending upon the nature of the work and meeting dates. Initially, the post holder will be paid to work a minimum of 2 hours per week. However, this is currently under review and is likely to increase to at least 4 hours per week as the successful candidate takes on more responsibilities. Although the hours of work are flexible, applicants must be available to work on a Wednesday evening between 5.45pm - 8pm as this is generally when our Governor meetings are held. It may also be necessary for meetings to be minuted during the school day. However, these times would be negotiated and agreed with the successful post holder first.

For further information regarding this position, please refer to the Application Pack letter which can be found on the West Sussex County Council website: or call the School Office on 01903 235390 between 9.30am - 2.30pm.

Completed applications should be received at the school by no later than 9am on Friday 21st June 2019. Successful candidates only will then be invited to attend an interview during week commencing 1st July 2019.
